Gifts to Physics Student Research contribute to...
Physics undergraduate and graduate students are highly successful in their research endeavors. Physics undergraduate students receive both GW and external research awards and author peer-reviewed publications based on their research. Physics graduate students contribute significantly to the research enterprise, with publications in high-profile journals and often playing key roles within national and international collaborations.
While many of these research efforts are supported by grants from faculty or competitive fellowships that students apply for, there are limited funds for presenting exciting research results at national and international conferences. This is especially true for undergraduate students and graduate students early in their time at GW. Besides showcasing research done by GW students and their advisors, attending conferences is very important for our students who want to grow their network and further develop professional skills.
We are asking you for your support to ensure that more early-career students can present their research at conferences, giving students opportunities that can change their careers and lives! Any gift would be welcome to support our students, no matter how large or small. To give you an idea of typical costs, conference registration fees are on average about $500, flights about $400 (for domestic conferences), hotel costs about $800, and meals about $300.
Thank you for supporting GW Physics students!!
