It Takes a Village – Raising High Women and Minorities in Engineering at GW

The GW SEAS Center for Women in Engineering (WiE) was created just three years ago as an umbrella organization to bring together all stakeholders committed to supporting women and underrepresented minorities within GW SEAS, as well as clubs and groups who have a similar mission. Despite pandemic challenges, the Center has continued to offer timely and engaging opportunities for students, faculty, staff and alumni. 

Your gift of $50, $100, or $250 will help boost and expand the Center’s activities.

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000 during the month of October. Your support will help boost and expand the Center’s activities including educational and professional development seminars, training to address unconscious bias and micro-aggressions, scholarships for graduate women, and engagement opportunities like the Edible Car Contest. With a gift, you will help advance GW’s long history of elevating outstanding women in engineering, in order to help achieve balanced representation of women and minorities. In addition, WiE will list your name and/or organization on the WiE website as a benefactor. How to advocate for this campaign? 

Step 1: Sign Up - Click “Sign Up” in the top right corner of the screen or from the advocate tab. 

Step 2: Share - Once you’ve logged in, you can use the sharing buttons and links that appear next to the video and/or on the advocacy dashboard at the bottom of the page. - Share your link via social media, email, and/or text. Every share, click, and gift generated from your unique link automatically tracks your influence as an advocate. You can also set up a matching donation or a challenge gift.

Step 3: Share a Little More - Create a plea video (accessed on the advocacy dashboard) to tell your peers and friends about this campaign.
