Now is a critical time to invest in the next generation of nurses. According to the American Nurses Association, the nursing shortage is expected to hit 1.1 million this year. At the GW School of Nursing (SON), we are meeting the rising demand for nurses through a comprehensive curriculum, career advancement opportunities, and innovative care solutions.
We strive to recruit the most talented nursing students, regardless of their ability to pay. But for many students, rising tuition costs continue to be a barrier to a GW education. Many nursing students are pursuing second degrees and already have accumulated large debt loads. We know that providing these students with tuition support is critical.
The generosity of our alumni and friends allows GW SON students the opportunity to pursue an education in medicine and meet the healthcare demands of our communities.
There is plenty of talent. There is not enough opportunity. Open a door for the next generation of nurses at GW.

"This unprecedented award has made a great impact on me and my family. As a single mother, completion of my FNP program while caring for my child and aging mother had become a big struggle. Being awarded this scholarship has made a huge impact and difference towards the completion of my program and for a greater tomorrow. I am so grateful and thankful for this golden opportunity." Priorities
SON Student Aid
Gifts to this fund support nursing students through merit- and need-based aid. Support for student scholarships helps ensure that talented students, regardless of financial resources, can take full advantage of a GW education.
SON Annual Fund
The annual fund benefits every facet of the School of Nursing including supporting student financial aid, advancing cutting-edge research, attracting top-tier faculty, and strengthening academic departments and community programs.
Thank you to all who have supported the GW School of Nursing on this #GWGivingDay! If you have yet to make a gift, there's still time to make an impact and raise high for GW nursing students.
