The George Washington University Law School continues to grow and prosper, thanks to the generous financial support of alumni and friends who recognize the value of investing in the future. Gifts to the Law School help ensure its strength by supporting institutional priorities including financial aid, academic programs, facilities, and faculty support. In honor of Giving Day, we ask that you make a contribution to support life-changing experiences and resources which uniquely define a GW Law education.
Open doors to an opportunity to influence, impact, and inspire. GW Law scholarships and fellowships invest in talent that will contribute to a greater world.

"After having worked professionally for some years, returning to a full-time student position for a three-year research-intensive post-graduate degree is no easy transition. As an international student, I am also limited with my ability to work to support my study and living expenses. This fellowship is invaluable to my being able to undertake this degree and I am truly grateful for the generosity of the donors for granting me this opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree." Priorities
Law School Student Aid
This student aid fund ensures that talented students, regardless of financial resources, can take full advantage of a GW Law education. Student aid helps reduce the loan burdens of GW Law graduates so that the cost of their education does not limit their ability to make their mark on the greater world, no matter their area of study or professional path. Please consider a gift to student aid today and support the legal professionals of tomorrow.
Law School Dean's Fund
Gifts to this fund enable Dean Dayna Bowen Matthew—who took the helm of GW Law in August 2020—to enhance student and faculty support, attract dynamic and diverse faculty, strengthen student placement services, invite renowned guest speakers to campus, promote student networking opportunities, and bolster other law school programs. Support Dean Matthew’s vision by donating to the Law School Dean’s Fund on Giving Day, helping to make a broad impact on the educational experience of our students.
Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinic Fund
The Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics provides real-world legal experiences to GW Law students, through 13 clinical programs and others on the horizon, working on topics including small businesses, health rights, family justice, and immigration. Students in these programs are provided the opportunity to develop lawyering skills and gain insights into the legal profession, while providing vital legal services to low-income clients in the District of Columbia. Your gift will help GW Law provide more students with these opportunities that allow them to grow as professionals and serve the greater community.
Public Service/Public Interest Law Fund
This fund supports GW Law students pursuing careers in public service or public interest law. Your gift supports non-tuition based needs—such as supplementing the travel costs of students as they interview for these roles—and special projects, including deferring out-of-pocket expenses for students doing research on public interest or public service projects. Make a gift today that not only directly supports law students, but also supports the communities they will serve for years to come.
GW Law Classes of 2020 and 2021 Student Assistance Fund
Leaders from the classes of 2020 and 2021 joined together to create a fund that addresses the unique experience shared by their classes over the last two years. This endowed fund, which will last in perpetuity, will support students facing unexpected hardship in the future, not unlike the challenges faced by many members of the classes of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Make a gift to the GW Law Classes of 2020 and 2021 Student Assistance Fund and support future students in need.
National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law Program
The National Security, Cybersecurity, and Foreign Relations Law Program includes the pursuit of legal scholarship and practice regarding the use of armed forces, intelligence operations, counterterrorism, homeland security, immigration, nonproliferation, treatment of detainees, congressional oversight, and classified information. While a number of law schools offer one or two courses in this field, few approach the breadth of courses available at GW Law. Your donation to this program allows GW to remain at the forefront of this legal field and help the law school continue attracting expert faculty, growing its on-campus National Security Archive, and providing opportunities for students to engage in real-world lawmaking processes.
